Well the end of August has come and gone and Grace and I have officially been married for a year and a half. We are still going strong. I love her more today than I did and I am certain that she would say the same about me, although I don't know why sometimes. She is an excellent partner, helpmeet, Christian, and pastor's wife. I told the church here in Farmville, NC when we arrived that there would never be anything more important than her. I constantly reinforce that and remind them and her of that fact too. I will always endeavor to take up for her and take care of her before anyone else. So many men in the ministry put other things first or simply loose sight of the fact the their family is their first ministry and first priority. God forbid that I should ever reach that point. The world can literally die and go to hell before I let my family do so. That is meaning of course not that I can save them, but that my life, testimony, time and attention needs to be directed towards their assurance of heaven before I help others to know so. Obviously this does not neglect my attention to soul-winning in regards to others, it is simply a statement about priority. It is possible to have a good family, to be a good partner in marriage, and and love God yourself while at the same time still seeking the salvation of others. Grace and I have a saying in our bedroom that says, "Always kiss me goodnight." and I will always try and make that a habit!
